A research and education institute for environmental science and an international model for coastal studies. The Center's programs are carried out at three laboratories located across the state: the Appalachian Laboratory in western Maryland, the Chesapeake Biological Laboratory, in southern Maryland and the Horn Point Laboratory on the Delmarva Peninsula. UMCES is also responsible for the administration of the Maryland Sea Grant College program. |
